Well, you know I’ve been busy planning for Mother’s Day and Teacher Appreciation Day with my My Mom ~ Frame (printables) and Tile Photo Coasters. I still have a few more DIY gift ideas planned to share with you over the next few days.
And you know I like to keep it Quick and Easy.
Well, today I’m sharing a darling Quick and Easy Gift Idea with you ~ Decorative Flip Flops!
I live in my flip flops year round (at least indoors!) Who wouldn’t enjoy receiving a fun pair like this ~
These were really fun ~ and Quick ~ to make!
Let’s get Started!
I got the White Flip Flops for $2.99 at the local Michael’s Craft Store (and used a coupon, of course!)
I had some Quilting Fat Quarters from Stampin’ Up! (sorry, these are discontinued).
First, I stacked up all three pieces on top of each other for cutting.
Then I cut about a 1″ strip off the short end of the shorter end. Then I cut them in half and in half again.
I rolled the fabric with the seam inward
Then I started at the center and started tying them on.
I added a little bit of ivory and green ribbon that I had in my scraps. I think I tied about 10 pieces to each side.
Then I trimmed all the pieces so they were similar lengths.
Repeat with the other one ~ and you are done! This took all of 10 minutes.
Aren’t these cute! I can totally see me making more of these this Summer to match summer dresses ~ say in Pink and White, Yellow and Black, Navy and White, etc.
What a fun way to class up flip flops! These would be perfect for Mother’s Day, Teacher Appreciation Day or a Bridal Shower Party. They would also be a fun project for a Slumber Party.
