Hello Lovelies! It’s football season ~ can you believe it? Around here, everyone puts on the TEAM colors for Game Day. Well, I’m a not really a T-shirt kinda girl so I came up with another fun way to incorporate My Style and still wear my TEAM colors.
Today I’m sharing a fun DIY Team Scarf that I made from, of all things, old t-shirts! Check it out ~
I started out with a variety of old t-shirts. First I started with my TEAM shirt and then I found neutral colors that would coordinate. I wanted to tone down the green and gold so I added grey, white and black.
I cut off all the sewn edges and seams using my Self-healing Mat, Omni-Grid and Rotary Cutter. Then I cut the remaining pieces into 10″ x 10″ squares. For some of the smaller shirts, I had to do 10″ x 5″ squares. But next time, I will for sure sue all 10″ squares just to cut down on the number of seams.
Then I started laying out my pieces in a coordinating pattern. This way I made sure to have them in the order I wanted to sew them together.
I sewed each piece with the front’s facing each other so the seam was at the back. Just one straight stitch!
I didn’t finish the ends or the sides. I continued sewing the pieces together until I’d made the scarf 6′ 4″ long. I used another one of my scarves as a guide for the length.
Here it is again ~
This was super easy to make. I really am not a seamstress; I only do super easy sewing projects. I hope you will give it a try! This was a fun project and I love the low-key way to wear my TEAM colors!
